Burns Night Dining Experience

Saturday 24th January – 7:00pm from Tunbridge Wells West

Burns Night Dining Experience

Celebrate Burns Night at the Spa Valley Railway!

Combine the elegance of steam train travel with your friends and family as we come together to celebrate Burns Night on board our beautifully restored 1960s heritage carriages on a 7:00 pm departure from Tunbridge Wells West.

This is the perfect evening for soaking up the atmosphere of the steam-hauled journey along the Spa Valley Railway, the locomotive scheduled to pull your Burns Night train is Caledonian Railway 812 Class No. 828, built in Glasgow in 1899, so it is very much Scottish herself!

Joining us to lead the celebrations is none other than Tunbridge Wells’ Stewart McCheyne, a Scottish actor, musician, and voice-over artist from a wee village in Argyll on the west coast of Scotland. Stewart has previously led our Burns Night celebrations, with everyone joining in the fun throughout the evening!

It is priced at just £70 per adult and £45 per child (recommended age range is 12+), and you will enjoy a sumptuous four-course meal served at your seats on board our Burns Night dining train.

Prior to the main course, we will toast the Haggis on the train.

The doors and our bar open at 6:30 pm, and the piper will be piping your arrival. You can purchase drinks and listen to the amazing live musical duo and the genuine Scottish piper, view the magnificent steam locomotive, and board the train. You will complete two return trips along the line, arriving back at Tunbridge Wells West at 9:30 pm.

Stewart

Stewart McCheyne – Scottish actor, musician, and voice-over.

Stewart McCheyne comes from a wee village in Argyll on the west coast of Scotland.

Growing up, he was always interested in music and performing. He started singing Gaelic and other traditional Scottish folk songs at 4, and he competed throughout Scotland. He later developed an interest in playing Drums and Guitar. Over the years, he played in many bands, sang in choirs, and performed in local drama groups.

We are delighted to be welcoming Stewart back to lead our Burns Night celebrations! Sing along to the songs and hear the address to the haggis.

Live music throughout the evening!

Kirsten Hammond and her musical partner will be performing throughout the evening with the fiddle and accordion. Traditional Scottish music will be played out through our train speakers too.
