Securing the Future of Steam on the Spa Valley Railway!

‘Jinty’ 47493 is the signature locomotive of the Spa Valley Railway. It was the first ex-mainline steam engine to be based on the railway and is perfectly suited for our operation, hauling many trains between 2004 and 2014. We now have the chance to make it one of our ‘Crown Jewels’ by offering it a permanent home, but we need YOUR HELP!

Thanks to the support of over 230 contributors we have achieved our initial goal of raising financial commitments to secure £50,000 matched funding. The next stage of the Jinty Appeal is to raise funds to cover the ongoing costs of the boiler overhaul. The overhauled boiler has returned to Tunbridge Wells, and we are now reassembling the locomotive.  We still need your help to finish the job, so are asking for your help by joining the Jinty Boiler Club, or by making a one off donation.
