Let us whisk you away on the South East’s original on-train whisky tasting experience!

Step aboard the Kent Whisky Train and discover the rich flavours of Kent’s growing whisky heritage as you travel through the beautiful High Weald countryside. This unique experience combines the charm of heritage railway travel with a guided tasting of award-winning whiskies from the Copper Rivet Distillery, based in the historic Chatham Dockyard.

Your journey begins at Tunbridge Wells West Station, where you’ll take your seat in one of our beautifully restored heritage carriages before setting off on a scenic return trip along the Spa Valley Railway. Awaiting you at your table will be a carefully selected tasting flight of three distinctive Copper Rivet whiskies, showcasing a variety of styles and flavours, including both single malt and grain whiskies.

To complement your tasting experience, you’ll also receive a complimentary Fever-Tree mixer, allowing you to enjoy your whisky exactly as you prefer. Each guest will be presented with an exclusive Spa Valley Railway branded whisky glass to savour their drams throughout the journey – and it’s yours to take home as a souvenir of this memorable experience.

And because every great tasting deserves a sweet accompaniment, a delicious slice of Victoria sponge cake will be served during the journey.

Masthouse Single Malt (Signature) – 45%

Uniquely sweet, smooth and easy drinking single malt with layers of complexity, this whisky advances distillation technique and brings together the beautiful art of whisky making and the science of distillation.

Our obsessive pursuit of the smoothest and flavoursome new make spirit led us to combining the traditional copper pot still with our unique ten metre tall copper hybrid still.

Masthouse Single Malt (Reserve) – 45%

Rooted in our obsession with creating distillate forward whiskies with a smooth, fruity floral distillery character, this is a homage to the old school, double copper pot distilled single malt whiskies.

We combine traditional whisky-making practices with modern brewing and fermentation techniques. Before maturing the spirit in a combination of first fill American standard barrels, and high-toast virgin American white oak barrels.

This whisky brings a complex balance of tropical fruits, floral, citrus and dark chocolate notes.

Masthouse Grain – 42%

Made to hero the influence of grain in whisky making we take locally grown wheat, barely and rye and offer them a chance to showcase each of their characters.

The harmony of the three grain varieties offers a single grain whisky with our signature smoothness and a sweetness which provides accessibility, while delivering layers of creaminess and spiced complexity for the connoisseur to explore.

This whisky shows why a beautifully made single grain whisky deserves a seat at the top table of whisky appreciation.

Booking Information

Advance booking is essential for all Dining Experiences.

Please note that, due to the limited number of tables for two, smaller parties may be required to share a table with other guests.

On the day of travel, please have your e-ticket ready for inspection, either printed or displayed on a mobile device. A member of our team will check tickets before boarding.

Please be aware that we are unable to offer refunds or transfers for customers who do not attend their booked event. As the Spa Valley Railway incurs costs for all confirmed bookings, these charges cannot be recovered. We recommend that customers consider appropriate travel or event insurance where necessary. Any re-booking will be subject to purchasing a new ticket at the full advertised fare.

TicketProtect is available for your order

We strongly recommend that you include this option, as your tickets are non-refundable. Adding TicketProtect will protect you against cancellations due to accidents, travel disruption on the way to the railway, and unexpected illnesses preventing you from attending. By adding it to your basket, you confirm that you have read and accept the TicketProtect Terms & Conditions, which we advise you to retain.

This protection is offered in-house by the Wealden Railway Company Limited, trading as the Spa Valley Railway and is only valid when purchased at the same time as your ticket(s). It is not an insurance policy.

Wheelchair Users

Dogs

Assistance dogs are permitted in our dining cars, but due to space limitations we are unable to accommodate other dogs on board our dining trains.

If you have any allergies or special dietary requirements, please notify us when booking and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Please note that there are no alternative menu options available beyond those offered during the booking process.
