As you travel through the beautiful Kent countryside aboard one of our heritage trains, you’ll become part of an immersive murder mystery experience where the story unfolds around you. Meet a cast of colourful characters, listen carefully to the clues, question the suspects, and piece together the evidence in a race to identify the killer before the final reveal.

Your evening of mystery, suspense and steam-powered adventure begins at Tunbridge Wells West, where detectives-in-the-making gather before embarking on a thrilling quest to solve a shocking crime.
As darkness begins to fall, you’ll receive your first all-important briefing. The details are scarce, the suspects are nervous, and the detective leading the investigation needs your help…
AHHHHHH! There’s been a murder!
A terrible crime has been committed, and somewhere amongst the clues, testimonies and suspicious characters lies the answer to the ultimate question: whodunit?
After the initial briefing, it’s time to board your train. Take your seat in one of our heritage carriages, settle in, and prepare for an unforgettable evening. You’ll be part of the investigation from start to finish, because without your keen eye for detail, the killer may never be brought to justice.
As the train departs Tunbridge Wells West and steams into the beautiful High Weald countryside, you’ll enjoy a freshly prepared Fish & Chip supper, served on board while the mystery continues to unfold. But don’t become too comfortable—this case is far from straightforward.
The investigation takes an unexpected turn when the train makes a special stop at a remote country station. Join the detective on the platform as fresh evidence comes to light and new revelations cast doubt on everything you thought you knew. Every clue matters, every suspect has a story, and every passenger has the chance to crack the case.
Back on board, the mystery deepens. Throughout the evening, our detective and a cast of intriguing characters will move through the train, sharing vital information, uncovering secrets and revealing surprising twists. With additional station stops and dramatic developments along the way, you’ll need to keep your wits about you as you piece together the evidence.
Will you uncover the truth before the final reveal?
The evening culminates back at Tunbridge Wells West, where all secrets are exposed and the identity of the killer is finally revealed. If your detective work has been particularly impressive, you could even walk away with a prize for solving the mystery.

What's included in the ticket price?
- A Murder Mystery experience lasting around three hours, including train journeys.
- An interactive Murer Mystery experience where you get involved, look for clues and work out “whodunit”!
- Your departure time and station are shown on your eTicket. You will return to your starting station.
- A fish & chip supper (or other option) served at your table.
- A complimentary drink.
- The opportunity to stretch your legs to see the locomotive that has pulled your train at either end of the line.
- Table service, which lets you order drinks from your seat.

Freshly Prepared Fish & Chip Supper
Served in a traditional chip box at your table, this classic British favourite is the perfect companion to an evening of mystery and steam travel. As you journey through the beautiful High Weald countryside, enjoy fish and chips, accompanied by tartar sauce, tomato ketchup, salt and vinegar, allowing you to season your meal exactly to your liking.
A range of menu options is available when booking, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy while they put their detective skills to the test.
Unfortunately, due to the way our catering is prepared, we are only able to accommodate vegetarian dietary requirements for this event. Guests with other dietary requirements or allergies should carefully review the allergen information provided at the bottom of this page before booking. We cannot accommodate vegan, diary-free or gluten-free dietary requirements.

Sit back in the comfort of your heritage carriage while our volunteers bring additional refreshments directly to your table, leaving you free to focus on the clues, question the suspects, and uncover the truth.

Booking Information
Advance booking is essential for all Dining Experiences.
Please note that, due to the limited number of tables for two, smaller parties may be required to share a table with other guests.
On the day of travel, please have your e-ticket ready for inspection, either printed or displayed on a mobile device. A member of our team will check tickets before boarding.
Please be aware that we are unable to offer refunds or transfers for customers who do not attend their booked event. As the Spa Valley Railway incurs costs for all confirmed bookings, these charges cannot be recovered. We recommend that customers consider appropriate travel or event insurance where necessary. Any re-booking will be subject to purchasing a new ticket at the full advertised fare.
TicketProtect is available for your order
We strongly recommend that you include this option, as your tickets are non-refundable. Adding TicketProtect will protect you against cancellations due to accidents, travel disruption on the way to the railway, and unexpected illnesses preventing you from attending. By adding it to your basket, you confirm that you have read and accept the TicketProtect Terms & Conditions, which we advise you to retain.
This protection is offered in-house by the Wealden Railway Company Limited, trading as the Spa Valley Railway and is only valid when purchased at the same time as your ticket(s). It is not an insurance policy.

Dogs
Assistance dogs are permitted in our dining cars, but due to space limitations we are unable to accommodate other dogs on board our dining trains.
